Cops Settle Lawsuit After Rough Arrest of Seizing Bodybuilder in PA

A lawsuit involving two Cumberland County cops and a bodybuilder in medical crisis has officially been settled — and no, this one wasn’t about gym rage or roid rumors.

Back in October 2021, Hampden Township Police rolled up to a house on Lambs Gap Road, responding to what they believed was a drug overdose. The man in question? Anton Guirguis, 44 — a bodybuilder, not a drug user — who, according to later reports, was actually having a seizure.

What happened next led to a federal lawsuit in 2023:
Cops gave Guirguis Narcan, allegedly punched him several times, and administered five sedatives — all while he was in medical distress. The situation got physical, fast, and Anton ended up handcuffed and roughed up in what he says was a complete misread by the officers.

Flash forward to now:
A settlement’s been reached. Terms haven’t been made public, but the case is officially closed. No word on whether any disciplinary actions were taken or what changes (if any) the department plans to make moving forward.

The serious takeaway?
This wasn’t a crime scene — it was a medical emergency. And it’s another example of how fast things can go sideways when communication, training, or assumptions get in the way.

No flex here — just facts. Stay tuned.
